2/03/08:  I took a long break from making art.  My friends and family know this.  I moved "back home" to Ohio.  Met a great guy, got married, bought a house.  Instead of being consumed by "all things ART," I set up shop on Ebay and hustled antique door hardware and lighting for a while.

I learned the difference between cast iron and pressed metal...and  printed lots of shipping labels.  Instead of photographing children at play I took pictures of old lanterns and Victorian door hardware.

As a result of my impromptu & extended hiatus, all the art posted on this site is at least 2 years old.  Each piece falls into one of three categories: Portraits, Decorative &  Children at Play.

The last is my favorite.   I only realized that after staying away for a while.   My Children at Play paintings are an attempt to capture what I perceive as perfect absorption.--and children seem to ease into those ZONES of peaceful contented-ness so effortlessly.  It may not be a shared activity or cute or even "happy,"  --but to me it's fascinating.  My Children at Play paintings try to capture that.
Being away for a while may have given me a little balance I didn't realize I needed...  I have every intention of getting back to painting fulltime.  This re-vamped website, a new name and now a new studio (yay!) don't guarantee success, but it's a start.
