Diane
Hoeptner (pronounced hep-ner) is a former 17 year resident of Los
Angeles who now enjoys the changing seasons "back home" in
beautiful Northeast Ohio. She works with a combination of
watercolors and color pencils to produce realistic portraits and fine
art.
When
she's not getting married, decorating her house or selling antique
door hardware on Ebay, she paints.
Diane has held a few art-related jobs
(understatement.) During employment as the assistant to the
president of a fine art publishing company in the late 80's, she became
acquainted with many successful fine artists, many of whom she greatly
admired. She became convinced that she too
could find wealth and fame making art!

Upon
acquiring a BA in Studio Arts from Cal State, Northridge, she
enjoyed several years as a digital animator for video games and the film
industry. Teaching art at East LA community college and serving as
Special Events Coordinator for the Culver City ART group encouraged her
natural tendency to share and promote traditional arts on a community
level. Work-study trips abroad to Japan, Peru and touring Europe
(including the Louvre) have been influential to her path.
While "wealth
and fame" have proven elusive, her first year of fulltime
painting resulted in numerous regional awards. Rinehart Fine Arts
published four of her floral paintings as posters for international
distribution...

Limited later published
two more paintings as
posters. Word of mouth and online publications have culminated in
a consistent influx of portrait commissions. She placed first in the
Fine Arts Institute of San Bernardino County Museum’s 37th Open
National Exhibition.
Publications featuring Diane’s work include the SAKS Fifth Avenue
folio catalogue, the cover of Westside Life Magazine and a few others. Generous
donations of her portrait service have helped raise funds for the
American Heart Association, the International Bird Rescue and
Research Center of San Pedro, CA and more recently for the Geauga County
Humane Society in Ohio. |
